Testing for Intelligence

I think it’s very important to include the whole child when assessing their abilities.  An assessment helps teachers have a better understanding of that child. It identifies children’s skills, abilities and their needs.  Based on what their abilities displayed.  Once a teacher assesse the whole child, they are able to make decision s on how to implement their learning activities.

Numeracy and literacy are the assessments that are given to school age children in South Africa.
I feel that assessments benefit the teachers greatly.   It helps monitor and improve the teaching-learning process between student and teacher and in meeting individual children needs.

  1. Rhonda,
It is very significant to include the whole child when making an assessment of their skills. This helps teachers have a better understanding of a particular child. Their skills become more defined as well as their abilities or needs. I agree that once their skills are assessed it provided more insight as to how to plan and implement their learning activities. It is amazing that numeracy and literacy are the assessment focus for children in South Africa. I believe as you do that assessments benefit the teacher as well as the child.
